This month’s find, a very rare barn find . . .
The Triumph Tigress step through scooter also sold as the BSA Sunbeam. First launched in 1958 the 250cc Scooter had a very swift top speed of 60mph for its time. This loveable Collectable was designed for excellent performance and handling for the average motorcycle enthusiast. With a very reasonable petrol consumption of 200 miles per gallon, a must with today’s crazy fuel prices.
The Triumph Tigress was made available with the option of a 250cc four-stroke twin or the more sensible 175cc two-stroke single-cylinder engine. Both options were forced-air-cooled and curbed to guarantee that extra low fuel consumption. The Tigress also possessed a well-engineered and innovative chassis.
Unfortunately, the 250cc Tigress was discontinued in 1964 leaving very few existing models, on the flip side Fortunately at Antiques Warehouse we have this sought-after showpiece. Perfect for a restoration and scooter enthusiast or that perfect vintage house aesthetic.
Our 250cc Tigress befits a glossy black and silver colourway for the body with a supporting sapphire blue beneath the seat. This Antique Scooter comes with the usual paint flaking however this will be easily restored to its original beauty, or rather you can have the option to flaunt the Triumph Tigress’s authentic aged rustic appearance. Its up to you Scooter Enthusiasts!
